Someone once asked me, “how do you know you are depressed, What are the signs, how can you tell, what is it like?”
I smiled, laughed, made a squint, a sad face and then replied “depression has no particular face.”
It’s just there, it’s inside us, it lives as a tiny seed waiting to be watered by thoughts, feelings and emotions.
Depression, like a tiny seed feeds of on our fears and dark thoughts. When you let things bother you for long, they feed that seed, and it eventually grows and consume you. It controls who you become. Some never survive from these, some do, but it always leaves a soft spot that can easily be triggered. Those who don’t survive always go for one thing, suicide. Suicide is never a permanent solution to a temporary situation, yes depression is temporary, it can be fixed. Seeing suicide as the only way to escape the pain is wrong.
There are few signs of DEPRESSION.
- Anxiety
- loss of interest in certain activities.
- Insomnia.
- Weight loss/gain.
- Suicidal thoughts.
- Lack of appetite.
- Low self-esteem.
- Feeling empty.
- Lack of appetite.
- Guilt feeling.
- Weakness.
- Restless/sadness.
- Unhappy.
Few ways to clear/control DEPRESSION are;
Exercise.
Identify the problem.
Therapy.
Communication.
Good nutrition.
Self-love acclimation.
Sleep.
Avoid toxic people and relationships.
Happy thoughts.
Stay engaged.
