Okay oh, I was smiling like everything was alright but deep down, my body was not okay. Where did my love go?
The occasion came to an end and I was helping the bride to pack her remaining luggage. She brought out a family photo and took what looked like a painful look at one of photos before crying.
As a caring friend, I moved closer to find out what made her so emotional.
“Nne what is it, I inquired.”
“I just wish Chief was here, he would have been so happy.” She said crying.
I tried comforting her and then asked her again,
“Who is Chief and why is he not here?”
“Chief was my late uncle, he was a Genie to this village, he was a very funny man. I miss him,” she said and continued shedding tears.

I took the photo to see her beloved uncle and suddenly, the photo which felt so light in my arms now weighed like an anvil.
I was about to ask her one more question before she dropped the last bombshell.
“When he was still alive, he would joke at any beautiful girl that passes by and say ‘I wish I met you before my wife’ I miss him.”
I didn’t need anyone to tell me my life was a nightmare. I just sat down there and joined the bride to cry.
“I remember when he told my Mom, ‘Pretty lady, you look so take away ‘ everyone laughed out their heart that day.”
She was still adding to my pain. I just fainted in peace.
The end.
