Second semester had just started and everything was already rough. The joy of being a first-year student was gone, the attitude and pride had disappeared.
No one told me that the university was this way. Movies, novels, and a few talks made me think it was a wonderland, freedom out of our parents cage. “The place of cruise,” I thought.
I barely performed well in my last exams and another one is coming around the corner.
One week into the exams, I got an email, I was summoned at the Senate building.
During the last exams, I was caught with my phone, although it was turned off, it was still against the exam conduct.
After much deliberation by the board, I was asked to come back next week for my letter. At this point, I was at a risk of expulsion if found guilty.
I was weak, I couldn’t focus on the remaining papers. There was no need to continue with the exam, it won’t be of any use.
How will I face my parents, what will I tell the relatives or those who I rubbed my admission into their face? No one would believe me, I will be blamed for sure.
Monday morning, I skipped my exams to visit my parents one last time. Halfway, lost the guts. I bought a bottle of sniper on my way back.
It’s better to end the whole drama.
I locked the room, my roommate had gone for his afternoon paper, there was no one going to stop me.
I gulped down the whole contents of the bottle, I was determined. It was starting to react when a notification popped up.
It was from the Senate, I was pardoned, but that was late.
Some things can be undone but not suicide. I had already made a drastic decision.

Dear readers, I hope we learned something along the lines. School is not easy, a lot of disappointment can occur, failure, friends and a lot of things can test us, but please never make a decision of taking your own life. It doesn’t solve the problem.
SUICIDE IS NEVER AN OPTION.
